Competition
Contestants in both the Miss and Teen categories participate in 5 phases of competition:
PRIVATE INTERVIEW → 20%
A private 10-minute interview with the panel of 5-7 judges allows insight into the contestant’s community service initiative (CSI), her ability to express her own beliefs in an authentic and relatable manner, and her ability to serve as a role model for her generation.

Wardrobe: Contestant’s Choice – Stylish Interview Attire (age appropriate)

Timing: 30 second opening,
9-minute Q&A, optional 30 second wrap up or closing statement.
TALENT/HER Story™ → 20%
Performance Arts Talents or HER Story™ Presentation underscoring the Miss America/Miss America’s Teen commitment to performance arts education initiatives and women’s individual efforts in dance, music, opera/vocal, drama, magic, oratory, circus arts and storytelling.

Wardrobe: Contestant’s Choice – Appropriate for her Performance Arts Talent or HER Story™ Presentation.

Timing: Up to 90 seconds.
HEALTH & FITNESS → 20%
This phase of competition is where the contestant showcases her discipline and commitment to health and fitness initiatives, including self-care, mental and physical health goals, and her overall energy.

Wardrobe: Contestant’s choice of Rebel x Miss America Red Collection (mandatory) fitness outfit. Outfit purchased can be used for subsequent competitions, including the state competition. Contact us for the current CODE!
EVENING WEAR → 20%
Contestant will publicly present her sense of style in evening wear suitable for a red carpet appearance as a local titleholder. This phase of competition allows insight into the contestant’s ability to capture attention on stage, her confidence and composure, and her ability to represent the program at a high-profile event.

Wardrobe: Contestant’s Choice of Evening Wear – Appropriate for Red Carpet.
ON-STAGE CONVERSATION → 20%
Provides perspective on the contestant’s ability to have a conversation and respond authentically to a question in a manner befitting a brand ambassador or state representative. The question asked will be regarding the contestant’s Community Service Initiative.

Wardrobe: Contestant to be in Opening Number Outfit, as determined by the production team.

Timing: Contestant’s response should not be longer than 20 seconds.
COMPETITION SCORING

Each judge will award a score between 1 and 10 (using whole numbers only) for each contestant, in each phase of competition.

Scores are then tabulated using the Olympic Scoring System, with the high and low scores being dropped.

Our competitions are held at Prospect Mountain Highschool Auditorium, Alton NH. Tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships will be awarded!
